Qantas has recently unveiled a refreshed business class lounge at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), marking a significant transformation from its mid-century modern design to a contemporary Californian coastal aesthetic. This renovation not only enhances the visual appeal but also addresses the need for increased capacity, accommodating 570 seats compared to the previous 500. The lounge, situated in the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT), serves as a joint venture between Qantas, British Airways, and Cathay Pacific, welcoming passengers from various Oneworld airlines. The redesign introduces a brighter and more cheerful ambiance with new flooring, paint, and timber feature walls, complemented by a skylight in the dining area. The iconic 1960s-inspired 'fire pit' and bar remain, offering a delightful flat white coffee. Additionally, the lounge now features more power outlets to cater to the tech-savvy travelers of today. Despite its Qantas branding, the LAX lounge is primarily a shared space for multiple airlines, and Qantas lounge passes are not accepted. This update comes as Qantas tightens control over lounge pass selling and sharing, ensuring a more exclusive and controlled environment for its premium passengers.
