McCollum's clutch jumper gives Wizards 114-113 win over Bucks (2026)

Talk about a buzzer-beater! C.J. McCollum just sunk a pull-up jumper with a single second left on the clock, snatching a 114-113 victory for the Washington Wizards against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks. What a finish! This game was a rollercoaster of emotions, showcasing some incredible plays and nail-biting moments.

The Wizards' victory, finalized on Wednesday night, was a testament to their resilience. McCollum's clutch shot, part of his 18-point contribution, was the defining moment. Teammates Alex Starr and Bub Carrington also stepped up, each scoring 20 points, proving the Wizards' depth and determination.

On the other side, Giannis Antetokounmpo led the charge for the Bucks, delivering an impressive 33-point performance. However, despite Antetokounmpo's stellar effort, the Bucks struggled with their shooting, hitting only 41.1% of their shots from the field. They did manage to sink 16 of 39 three-pointers, showing they could still find the basket from beyond the arc.

Milwaukee's Kevin Porter Jr. added 19 points, while Ryan Rollins contributed 16. The Bucks, riding a two-game winning streak, were aiming for their first three-game winning streak of the season.

The game's momentum swung back and forth. Kyle Kuzma's layup in the dying seconds of the third quarter gave the Bucks an 88-86 lead heading into the final period. The Wizards then unleashed a 13-3 run in the first two minutes of the fourth, fueled by three consecutive three-pointers from Carrington, taking a 99-91 lead with 9:56 remaining.

Washington extended their lead to 10 points before Milwaukee fought back, scoring seven straight points, including back-to-back baskets from Antetokounmpo, making it a 107-104 game with 6:27 left.

But here's where it gets controversial... Antetokounmpo left the court with 5:14 to play after a hard fall. Milwaukee struggled on their next five possessions before his return with 2:39 remaining. After a basket was disallowed due to a traveling call, he assisted Rollins for an open three-pointer, tying the game at 110.

Myles Turner's free throws put Milwaukee ahead with 1:15 remaining, and Antetokounmpo added two more points, creating a three-point game. Then came the Wizards' final, dramatic surge.

And this is the part most people miss... The Wizards' ability to maintain composure and execute under pressure was the key to their win.

What do you think? Did the Bucks' shooting woes cost them the game? Was Antetokounmpo's injury a turning point? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
